Generally, the ladies sit in seats with the gents sitting opposite. every few minutes, a whistle is blown, or a bell is rung, and the gents move on to the next lady. The time for each date is generally 3 minutes, although it can be as long as 8 or 10 minutes. The participants mark who they'd like to see again on a sheet, and then hand in the sheet at the end of the session.
